5 Daily Practices to get closer to God
Pray in the Morning
Praying in the morning is so powerful. God will be there for the meeting. The morning is a great time for prayer because most of us are sleeping which means getting through to God stronger. We may look at it like that. God appreciates when we keep our appointment of morning prayers to him.
Read the Psalms
The psalms of the bible are prayers. Some of them were created by King David. God gave us powerful prayers in the psalms that we may use to tell him what we need, and how we are feeling. Use the psalms. Reading the psalms helps us to raise our vibration and deflect negative energy, if we read with belief and devotion.
Perform an Act of God
Did you know you could perform one act of God per day? Yep acts of God may be so easy, but can mean so much to someone else. You could empty someones trash, help a student with their homework, pick up someones dinner plate, engage someone in conversation. There are some many things we can do as God holy servants and helpers, that we know helps others…even if we are not asked to do them.
This is Gods favorite! Praise God. How? By telling him of all the wonderful things he created and that you enjoy about life. You can do this silently as you pray to him, or by journalling. Its kind of like showing Gratitude except that its all about God and for God.
This blog is my God sharing. I know God likes when we share our testimony of him with others. It makes others feel God and God acknowledges and appreciates our work. My God blog is how I am sharing my love of God with others. But it is also my life’s work.
Prayer for Forgiveness
If we want to be close to God, we have to be honest with God. Here is a short prayer for forgiveness. It is psalm 51.
A Prayer for Forgiveness
Be merciful to me, O God,
because of your constant love.
Because of your great mercy
wipe away my sins!
Wash away all my evil
and make me clean from my sin!
I recognize my faults;
I am always conscious of my sins.
I have sinned against you—only against you—
and done what you consider evil.
So you are right in judging me;
you are justified in condemning me.
I have been evil from the day I was born;
from the time I was conceived, I have been sinful.
Sincerity and truth are what you require;
fill my mind with your wisdom.
Remove my sin, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear the sounds of joy and gladness;
and though you have crushed me and broken me,
I will be happy once again.
Close your eyes to my sins
and wipe out all my evil.
Create a pure heart in me, O God,
and put a new and loyal spirit in me.
Do not banish me from your presence;
do not take your holy spirit away from me.
Give me again the joy that comes from your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.
Then I will teach sinners your commands,
and they will turn back to you.
Spare my life, O God, and save me,[b]
and I will gladly proclaim your righteousness.
Help me to speak, Lord,
and I will praise you.
You do not want sacrifices,
or I would offer them;
you are not pleased with burnt offerings.
My sacrifice is a humble spirit, O God;
you will not reject a humble and repentant heart.
O God, be kind to Zion and help her;
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you will be pleased with proper sacrifices
and with our burnt offerings;
and bulls will be sacrificed on your altar.
